We at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and Cremation Services, would like to welcome you to our website. We hope to provide you with a wide variety of information that you can use or pass along to a friend. Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and Cremation Services is proud of our heritage. We’ve had the honor of serving families in the Fort Dodge and surrounding communities since 1856…over 154 years! Currently the funeral home is owned and operated by the fourth and fifth generations of Laufersweilers, and is the oldest family owned funeral home in the State of Iowa. We are in our third location and have been at 307 South 12th Street in Fort Dodge, Iowa since 1952.
Laufersweiler Undertaking Parlors was founded by Joe Laufersweiler’s Great Grandfather, Conrad Laufersweiler, in 1856. In 1979, Joseph Laufersweiler purchased the funeral home from his father, Welch Laufersweiler, and became the fourth generation of Laufersweilers to serve this area. Joe’s nephews, Mark and Luke Laufersweiler, both graduated from Mortuary School and are now active partners in the business.
As we’ve grown, we’ve tried to give the same care to your family, as we would want given to our own. Our dedication has allowed us to help families cope during the most difficult times of their lives. It is our hope that this web site will provide you with the answers to questions you may have about our funeral home, the funeral planning process, or about the many services we can provide.
