Bobby Dean Brockman

Robert "Bobby" D. Brockman, 67, of Fort Dodge passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at his home. Funeral services will be on Saturday, May 23rd at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Robert is survived by his children, Robert Brockman of Laurens; David Brockman of Laurens; Mellissa Brockman of Fort Dodge; Nicole Brockman of Fort Dodge; step-sons, Dean (Stacy) Dornath of Fort Dodge; David (Michelle) Jakeman of Fort Dodge; 12 grandchildren; and sister, Kathy McCoy of Webster City; nieces, Kim Brockman of Surprise, AZ; and Jill Ascherl of Anthem, AZ Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Rita in 2014; parents, James and Mary (Thompson) Brockman; and brother, Gary Brockman, and his step-son, Logan "Poncho" C. Vaudt. Robert Dean Brockman was born on October 28, 1947 in Fort Dodge. He was raised and educated in Fort Dodge. Bobby was united in marriage to Rita Jakeman on October 28, 2000, at the Little Brown Church at Nashua. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge and Bobby was employed with Fort Dodge Asphalt until retiring in 2013. He was an avid NASCAR fan. Bobby truly loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
