Bruce H. Maier, 77, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Tuesday, November 24th, 2020 at his home. Graveside services Saturday April 17th 2021 at 2:00 PM Corpus Christi Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the V.F.W. Post 1856 and the U.S. Navy Honor Guard. Bruce is survived by his wife, Sally Maier of Fort Dodge; children, Mike (Sarah) Maier of Carthage, TN, Angie (Lyle) Alwardt of Lewisberg, TN, and Christin Maier of Carthage, TN; step children, George Harrison of Algona, Jim Harrison and David Harrison both of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Amanda Tomlin, Ahley Jones, Krystal Jones, Ashley Daniels, Lucas McKenney, Clayton Hurst, and Lareana Jade Riveria; great-grandchildren, Brenton Reece, John Tomlin, Roland Tomlin, Abigail Tomlin, Aidan Sanders, Clayton Scott Buckland, Mason Daniels, and Olivia Daniels. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Fairie (Baightol) Maier, son, Scott Maier, and siblings, Theodore Maier, Kate Dencklau, and Madonna Cervene. Bruce Hubert Maier was born June 14, 1943 in Fort Dodge. He attended Fort Dodge public schools and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School. On April 27, 1964, he enlisted in the United States Navy. in December of 1965 he was united in marriage to Mary Geopfert. The couple eventually divorced. Bruce's military career brought the family to California. He served in the navy for over 30 years, retiring as a Command Master Chief. Upon his retirement, Bruce moved back to Fort Dodge. In 2001, he was united in marriage to Sally Zuspann and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. He was employed with C & S Products and later National Gypsum. He retired in 2005 after working there for several years. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
