Marilyn A. Powers, 74, of Fort Dodge went to her heavenly home on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at her home with her loved ones by her side.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 17, 2024, in the chapel of Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will begin 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Marilyn Agnus Hoban was born January 20, 1949, in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Thomas and Dorothy Hoban. She attended Corpus Christi and Saint Edmond schools in Fort Dodge. She was united in marriage to William Powers at Corpus Christi Church on December 30, 1967. They made their home in Otho, Iowa and had two sons, Joseph and Mark.
Marilyn was a hard worker both at home and work. She was employed with AV Tischer and Son as a grain inspector and was a manager at Office Max until her retirement. She was a lifelong member of Corpus Christi Church and in the past years she would faithfully watch daily mass online at Holy Trinity Church.
Marilyn will be greatly missed by her beloved son Mark (Lanett) Powers, grandchildren Austin Powers (Sydney Crimmins), MacKayla Powers (John Odefy), Mackenzie (Andrew) Bair, Daniel (Alexis) Powers, Tyler Powers, Madison (Jack) Letsche, Caitlin Bair, Nicole (Benjamin) Williams, Jacob Bair, Great Grandchildren Kinley Harrison, Karsyn Odefey, Lium and Eli Powers and Ryker Williams. Brother David (Barb) Hoban (St. Charles Missouri), several nieces and nephews, and her roommate, her cat Charlotte.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, son Joe, sister Nicole Johnston and brother Charles Hoban.
Marilyn was a kind, hardworking woman. She had a spicy side and had a great sense of humor. She will be known for her passion for her faith and her deep love for her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Marilyn and her family appreciate the care and love she received from Palliative Care and her hospice nurses.
Memorials will be left to the discretion of the family.
