Farnhamville Marilyn "Mellen" B. Skoglund 65, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Greene County Medical Center, Jefferson. Graveside Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2022 at Reading Township Cemetery, Farnhamville, with Pastor Jim Davis officiating. Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie is serving the family. Survivors include husband Kenny "Henry" Skoglund of Farnhamville; son John "Johnny" (Abby) Skoglund of Grand Junction and their children, Ella and Lydia Skoglund; daughter Christine "Betty" (Michael) Lavender of Colorado Springs, CO and their children, Aidan and Reagan Lemke, and Isla Lavender; daughter Amanda "Ninny" (Andrew) Krieger of Grand Junction and their daughter Kenley Krieger; sister Kathy (Dave) Easley of Mustang, OK; sisters-in-law, Anita (Scott) Brayton of Easton, MD and Laurie (Nik) Telleen of Gowrie; former son-in-law Brad Lemke; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Mabel (Gray) Wood; sister Janet Banta and her husband Vic; and brothers, Kip and Richard Wood. Marilyn "Mellen" B. Wood was born December 17, 1956 at Cherokee, Iowa. She graduated from Cedar Valley High School with the Class of 1975. On May 2, 1976 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Skoglund at Slifer. Marilyn was employed in food service at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City for several years. She enjoyed music, loved her grandchildren, and her dachshund dogs Ringo, Murphy, and Molly. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
