Mary Jo Croonquist

Mary Jo Croonquist, 83, of Johnston passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Brio Senior Living of Johnston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Moorland. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Good Counsel Cemetery, Moorland. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM Monday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with a Vigil starting at 7:00 PM. Mary is survived by her children Jolene Jenkins of Newton, Kathy (Tony) Parenza of Urbandale, Dave (Laura) Croonquist of Omaha, Julie (Todd) Nelson of Iowa City and Dan Croonquist of Callender, 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and brother Paul Kehoe of Callender She was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Gladys (Goehring) Kehoe, husband Oscar in 2015, and son-in-law John Jenkins. Mary Jo Kehoe was born November 13, 1936 in Lake City. She was raised and educated in Callender; graduating from Callender High School. She then attended Tobin Business College. On June 25, 1955, she was united in marriage to Oscar Croonquist in Moorland. The couple established their home on a farm near Callender for more than 40 years. In 2001, Mary Jo and her husband moved to Twin Lakes. She enjoyed living and spending time at Twin Lakes, golfing, bowling, her dog, Sammy and most of all her grandchildren. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
