Michael Scott Moore

Michael S. Moore, 52, of Fort Dodge passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016 at the Grandview Care Center in Dayton. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 1, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home, with Rev. John Elkin officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Survivors include his girlfriend, Kim Wassenberg of Fort Dodge; son, Anthony Gray of Fort Dodge; step-children, Josh Mikesell of Fort Dodge; Michelle Wendt of Cedar Rapids; Linde Mikesell of Correctionville; 4 grandchildren; 9 step grandchildren; siblings, Diane (Tim) Cook of Fort Dodge; Kirk (Lori) Moore of Harcourt; John (Becky) Moore of Preston, ID; step-brother, Tony Moore of Fort Dodge; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Moore in 1998; and his first wife, Deb Moore. Michael Scott Moore was born on November 25, 1963, in Fort Dodge. He attended schools here and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1981. Mike then attended and graduated from Iowa Central Community College. Following his education he was employed with various companies in advertising. On August 8, 1998, he was united in marriage to Connie Jo Wilson and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. They were later divorced. Most recently Mike had been employed with Bricker Group L.L.C. until retiring due to ill health. Mike enjoyed barbequing, cooking, chili cook offs, and along with his "man wife" A.J. owned and operated South Side Barbeque. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Raider Football Fan; Mike especially loved spending time with family and friends. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
