Nicholas W. Pommer, 34, of Tiffin, near Iowa City, and formerly of Fort Dodge passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2013 in Tiffin. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2013 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. Burial will be at a later date. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Nick is survived by his mother, Michele Pommer of Fort Dodge; father, Kendal Pommer of Otho; brothers, Jeff Pommer of Fort Dodge; Adam Pommer of Des Moines; nieces, Madison, Makayla, and Olivia; grandma, Beverly Musselman of Fort Dodge; grandparents, Donna and Kenny Pommer of Otho; uncles, Vic Musselman and Russ Musselman; aunts, Renee Peterson, Leigh Ann Musselman and Melanie Fortney; loving cousins, Randall Lee, Victor, Joshua, Lindsey, Amanda, Ben, Shannon, and Samantha. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ray Musselman and aunt, Marcell Rasch. Nicholas was born of March 22, 1979 in Fort Dodge. He graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1997, where he excelled in baseball. He then attended Iowa Central Community College and then Boone Community College. Nick moved to Des Moines and attended Grandview College where he graduated with his degree in Criminal Justice. For eight years he was employed with the Oakdale Prison (Iowa Medical and Classification Center) in Coralville. Nick enjoyed riding his motorcycle and driving his Jeep. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and Miami Heat fan. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
