Raymond Patrick Wendell

Raymond "Pat" Wendell, 69, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday February 4th at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Somsen, Chaplain at Trinity Regional Medical Center, officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Kathy of Fort Dodge; sons, Todd Wendell and his wife Mary Jane of Ogden; Dean Wendell and his wife Lisa of Fort Dodge; step-daughter, Jennifer Matuszak and her husband Glenn of Loveland, CO; step-son, Brian Nottger of Somers; five grandchildren; brothers, Dan (Roxie) Wendell of Badger; Tim (Janet) Wendell of Fort Dodge; and a sister, Lori (Mike) Dutcher of Fort Dodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Mary Jane (Bockert) Wendell. Raymond Patrick Wendell was born on March 17, 1943 in Fort Dodge. He attended schools here and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School. Following his education Pat worked for the Rail Road and later Hormel's for 13 years. For over 30 years Pat also owned operated Wendell Construction. On December 17, 1993 he was united in marriage to Kathy Gebhardt and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and especially loved spending time with his family and friends. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
