Ronald J. Hendricks

Ronald J. Hendricks, 76, of Rockwell City, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at Fonda Specialty Care in Fonda. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 4th at 10:30 AM at St. Francis Catholic Church in Rockwell City with Rev. Lynn Bruch officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery with Military Rites Conducted by the Rockwell City Veterans Organization. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 AM till 10:30 AM at the church. Palmer & Swank Funeral Home is serving the family. The family requests that everyone please dress casually for the services. Survivors include his wife Jo Ann of Rockwell City, daughter Cathie Wise, son Tim Lyons, daughter Julie (Mike) Lynch, son Todd (Anita) Lyons all of Rockwell City, daughter Cyndie (Bryon) Whiting of Spirit Lake, son Barry Lyons of New London, IA, 13 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Irene (Ellis) Hendricks, brothers Gary and Larry, and sister Barbara Hendricks. Ronald J. Hendricks was born on June 27, 1945, in San Diego, CA, he was raised and educated in Rockwell City. He graduated from Rockwell City High School in 1963. Ron then served in the U.S. Army, including 15 months in Vietnam. On January 1, 1976, he was united in marriage to Jo Ann Pitstick and the couple established their home in Rockwell City. Ron farmed until his retirement in 2019. He served 15 years on the V.A. Board and for 26 years as the Commander of A.M.V.E.T.S. Ron enjoyed hunting, farming, casino trips, playing cards with friends, and gardening. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
