Susan Gaye Jensen (Wilcox), 71, of Fort Dodge, Iowa passed away peacefully Sunday morning, August 1, 2021, at Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge, Iowa after a brief illness. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 7th at 11:00 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with President Tyler Thacker officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family. Susan was born on September 15th, 1949, in Rockford, Illinois the first-born daughter of Robert and Patricia Wilcox. In 1959 Susan, her brother Robin, and their parents moved to Blair, NE. In 1967 she graduated from Blair High School. She briefly attended Dana College in Blair. She was united in marriage to Richard Eugene Jensen on February 15, 1969. Richard and Susan moved to California in 1969 and back to Blair in 1970. They were blessed with 4 sons, David, Brian, Kevin, and Daniel, who she loved fiercely. The Couple then moved to Iowa in 1989 Sue taught music at District 105 school in Saunders County Nebraska, volunteered and worked as a Teachers Aid at Manson Northwest Webster School District from 1989-1999, Teachers Aid at Rockwell City-Lytton School District from 1999-2001, Dustex from 2001-2009 and finished her working career working at H&R Block and Webster County Abstract. But her favorite job was grandmother to 13 amazing grandchildren who could do no wrong. Sue's hobbies included: genealogy, cross-stitch, reading, enjoying nature, spending time with grandkids, doing puzzles, and watching Husker Football. Survivors include her brother Robin and Patty Wilcox of Fairview, UT, 4 sons Dave and Kasey Jensen of Blair, NE, Brian and Reagon Jensen of Manson, IA, Kevin and Amy Jensen of Omaha, NE, Dan and Emily Jensen of Fort Dodge, IA, and 13 grandchildren. Ryan, Corynn, Conner, Alanna, Sean, Layla, Brighton, Briahna, Fairon, Paisley, Gavin, Hadley, and Andrew Jensen. Susan was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
