Terry D. Elliott, 69 of Fort Dodge passed away Monday, November 27, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines following a brief illness. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2017 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Alan Henderson officiating. Military rites will be provided by the United States Army Honor Guard and the VFW Post 1856. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Terry is survived by his wife, Cindy; sons, Austin (Saydie) Elliott; Gerrad (Tania) Elliott; and three grandchildren, Easton, Emerson and Caden all of Fort Dodge; sister, Vicki Goodrich of Elgin, IL; mother-in-law, Gerry Balke of Fort Dodge; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Harriet (Rongved) Elliott. Terry Don Elliott was born January 11, 1948 in St. Paul, MN. He was raised and educated in Fort Dodge, graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1966. He then attended Mankato State University. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1969 and received his honorable discharge after 5 years of service. He then returned to Iowa. Terry was united in marriage on March 15, 1978 and the couple established their home in the Clare area, eventually settling in Fort Dodge. He was employed with Heartland Communication, Becker Florists, and with Land O'Lakes Answer Farm, retiring in 2014. Terry enjoyed gardening and being outside. He was a "Rock Hound" that enjoyed collecting rocks and hauling them in his trusty LaSabre. Most of all, Terry loved spending time with family and friends. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
