Alajos "Louis" Andrews

Alajos "Louis" Andrews, 83, of Fort Dodge passed away at home on Friday October 13th, 2023. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Laufersweiler Funeral Home at 1:30 pm. A visitation will be held one hour prior. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at North Lawn Cemetery. Louis was born on November 17, 1939, in Budapest, Hungary. Louis moved to the United States in 1957. On July 15, 1961, he was united in marriage to Mary Jean Peterson, the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Louis worked for Georgia Pacific for 13 years. Louis then worked for Hormel for 30 years, retiring in 2004. During his employment with Hormel, Louis and his family lived in Fort Dodge, Ottumwa and Algona. The couple returned to Fort Dodge in 2004. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jean Andrews, of Fort Dodge, four daughters Mary Jean "Jane" Karp (Dale) of Summville, SC, Kathryn "Kathy" Wille (Leo) of Garnavillo, IA, Margaret Sue "Peggy" Taylor of Bartlett, TN, Elizabeth "Liz" Huerd (Dan) of Burnsville, MN and 9 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He is preceded in death by his mother Anna (Kling) Andreanszky.
