Alan J. Tilton, 55, of Fort Dodge, unexpectedly passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2015, due to a heart attack. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 9, 2015 in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church with Rev. Joseph Dillinger officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a Vigil at 6:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Alan was born in Fort Dodge on June 24, 1960 to Donald and Laura (Rodenborn) Tilton and attended St. Edmond High School. Alan was united in marriage to Shelly Cote in Fort Dodge on March 4, 1994. He worked for Darwin Rummel at Northside 66 for many years until going to Boehringer Ingelheim in the early 1990's where he continued working. Alan is survived by his daughter, Heather Tilton of Fort Dodge; son, Michael (Missy) Cote of Fort Dodge; former wife, Shelly Tilton of Fort Dodge; loving siblings, Mike of Fort Dodge; Dan of Denver, CO; Dave of Buffalo Lake, MN; Jay "Don" (Sandy) of Maple Grove, MN; Annie Paulson of Chandler, AZ; Pat (Judy) of Gilbert, AZ; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and his 3 grandchildren who he loved dearly; Christian, Kegan, and Taylor Cote. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Laura Tilton; and niece, Meghan Paulson. Al was and will always be a friend, father, husband, and brother to so many people on his road through life. Al's family will remember him as the man who really enjoyed giving himself to anyone who befriended him. His joyful and playful spirit will live on through those who embraced his friendship or love for life. Al had a passion for his beloved Denver Broncos, Twin Lakes, and the joy of endless golfing. He now listens and talks through your hearts as your life journeys onward. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
