Almeda M. Gordon

Gowrie Almeda M. Gordon, 87, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Society in Manson. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM on Monday, March 28th at Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Gowrie Township Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie. Survivors include her children Stephanie (Chad) Heinze of Manson, Kim Tjepkes (Damon Clancy) of Jefferson, Matt (Kim) Gordon of Fort Dodge, Stu (Jane) Gordon of Waterloo, grandchildren Kirby (Nate), Kyle, Collin (Molly), Courtney, Brandon (Hannah), Larin (Matthew), and Boston, great grandson Oliver, brother Phil Erholm of CO. She was preceded in death by her parents Ben and Ebba (Jedine) Erholm, and her husband Robert in 2013, bothers David Erholm and Bob Erholm. Almeda Marie Erholm was born on May 20, 1934 in Mason City. As a young girl the family moved to Keokuk and later to Marathon where she graduated from Marathon High School. Almeda then attended Buena Vista University where she met the love of her life Robert Gordon and on May 12, 1957 they were united in marriage. The couple established their home in Gowrie. Almeda would often be taking her boys fishing and her girls shopping when they were younger. Almeda loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was very musical and enjoyed playing the piano and the organ. Almeda also enjoyed playing golf, going to yard sales and shopping. She was long time member of Zion Lutheran Church and also the Stephen Ministries. Memorials may left to the discretion of the family.
