Amanda Rose Vosika

Amanda Rose Vosika, 36, of Fort Dodge passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, November 3, 2017. Celebration of life will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 10, 2017 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Laufersweiler funeral home. Amanda is survived by her father, Gary Vosika of Moorland; mother, Cathy Vosika of Fort Dodge; brothers, A.J Vosika (Summer) of West Lafayette, IN; Dillon Vosika of Lakeview, MI; grandparents, Walter DeLanoit and Doris Vosika both of Fort Dodge; nephews, Parker and Brecken Vosika; and her dog "Jaykeers". Amanda was preceded in death by her grandmother, Marian DeLanoit; grandfather, John Vosika; uncles, Jack Vosika and Doug DeLanoit. Amanda Rose Vosika was born May 26, 1981 in Fort Dodge. She was raised on the farm near Moorland and attended Prairie Valley High School, graduating in 1999. She then attended Iowa Central Community College, before moving on to Iowa State University where she received her bachelor's degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice. Amanda enjoyed being a nanny around Fort Dodge, it also took her as far away as Washington D.C. She was especially fond of little boy named Abel, whom she helped raise for the last 3 years and he affectionately called her "Nana". Amanda was a proud 4-H and FFA alumni; she loved to raise and show sheep and calves in 4-H. and also Himalayan cats. Amanda was a friend to everyone she met. She had an open heart and was always willing to help others before herself. Amanda will be forever missed. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
