Anna Vinsant

Anna Vinsant, 97, of Fort Dodge and formerly of Duncombe passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremy Hatley, TRMC Chaplain, officiating. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Anna is survived by her grandchildren, Buck (Becky) Boring; Chris (Brad) Rolow; great-grandchildren, Blythe (Mark) Larson; Brayden Squiers; step-grandchildren, Jason; Tess; Jennifer; numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret (Hahn) Grell; husband, Carl Vinsant; daughter, Carol Martens; sisters, Margaret Pingel; Katherine Newkirk; Charlotte Ferguson; brothers, Paul; Raymond; Pat Grell. Anna Grell was born July 28, 1921 in Duncombe. She was raised and educated in Duncombe. On March 27, 1938 she was united in marriage to Carl Vinsant. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge. Carl passed away on May 19, 1987. For a number of years, Anna worked for Fareway. On June 28, 2007, Anna married William Johnson in Merril, Iowa. He passed away on January 3, 2009. In her retirement, she enjoyed being a Foster Grandparent at St. Paul Lutheran Schools. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
