Anne Louise Kapustka

Anne L. Kapustka, 76, of Johnston, formerly of Barnum passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 at Edencrest Assisted Living in Johnston. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 24 at 9:30 am at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and then a Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in St. Josephs Cemetery in Barnum. A visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. Anne is survived by her children, Mary Kathryn Kapustka of Fort Dodge; John (Kathy) Kapustka of Burnsville, MN; Peter (Renee) Kapustka of Fort Dodge; Julie (Rick) Schraeger of Johnston; Christine (Gregg) Botkin of Cedar Rapids; Matthew (Alison) Kapustka of Nevada; Sarah (Scott) Bihrer of Urbandale; Tony (Kristie) Kapustka of Colorado Springs, CO; 24 grandchildren; 4 great- grandchildren and brother, Joe (Maureen) Flaherty of Castleberry, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Josephine (Thomas) Flaherty; husband, Donald Kapustka; and brothers, Rev. Paul and Michael Flaherty. Anne Louise Flaherty was born March 4, 1942 in Sioux City, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Fort Dodge; graduating from Saint Edmond High School. She was united in marriage on May 27, 1961 to Donald Kapustka. The couple established their home on the family farm near Barnum. She worked on the family farm with her husband Don and was employed and actively volunteered in the nursing field for many years. Anne's hospitality, generosity, and love were without limits; bringing forth life from the earth in gardening, and serving others with a spirit of joy, forgiveness, and unconditional love. Memorials may be left to your local Hospice or to the discretion of the family.
