Rockwell City Ardeth M. Hildreth 90, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital. Lake City. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at the United Methodist Church, Rockwell City, with Pastor Anita Bane officiating. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery, Rockwell City. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Church until service time. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City is serving the family. Ardeth is survived by her children, Sandi (Paul) Feld of Rockwell City, Linda (Neil) Swedlund of Stratford, Rita (Steve) Anderson of Washington, and Gary (Pam) Hildreth of Rockwell City; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Hildreth; son Rohn Hildreth; grandson Allen Feld; her parents, Richard and Letha (Smith) Pierson; sisters, Jennie Pierson, Verona Calhoun and Myrna Woodward; and brothers, Arlie and Ross Pierson. Ardeth May Pierson was born September 2, 1930 at Lake City, Iowa. Ardeth attended Lytton Schools until her Senior year and graduated from Rockwell City High School. On June 9, 1949 she was united in marriage to Richard "Dick" W. Hildreth at the United Methodist Church, Rockwell City. They lived all 70 years of their marriage farming between Rockwell City and Lohrville. The couple retired in 1988 and made their home in Rockwell City. They enjoyed wintering in Arizona for many years. In 2009, they became residents of Sunnyview Independent Living. Dick passed away in 2020. Ardeth was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church, and an avid Chicago Cub fan. She was known for making the best pies and potato salad, and truly loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
