Barbara Ann Weimer

Barbara A. Weimer, 80, of Fort Dodge, passed away Friday January 5, 2024, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 11th at 10:30 AM in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Snook, officiating. Burial will follow at the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Barbara is survived by her sons, James (Stacy) Weimer Jr. of Fort Dodge; and Douglas (Brenda) Weimer of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Caleb, Jessie, Caitlyn, and Chase Weimer; step grandchildren Hadley, Brendan, Marissa; great grandchildren; Bentley, Jase, Kinsley, Aria, and Avery; sisters Linda Flockhart of Fort Dodge, Susan Anderson of Fort Dodge, and Christine Smith of Springfield, OR.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Wayne and Lydia (Burkholder) Hendrickson and her brother Wayne Hendrickson.

Barbara Ann Hendrickson was born on June 22, 1943, in Fort Dodge. She was raised and educated here graduating from FDSH in 1961. Barbara worked in retail sales at various department stores in Fort Dodge. Most recently she was self-employed and also working for the State of Iowa and the 1st Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the 1st Church of Nazarene where she served on the church board and taught Sunday school for many years.
