Barbara G. Price, 72, of Fort Dodge passed away Monday, June 8, 2015 at Friendship Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. Private burial will take place at a later time at St. James Cemetery, Clare. A visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family. Barbara is survived by her brother, Brad and his wife Janann Price of Clear Lake; nephews, Bradley D. Price (Kate); William S. Price; niece, Anne E. Price and great-nephew, William Bradley Price. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gail and Hazel (Frank) Price. Barbara Gayle Price was born May 11, 1943 in Springfield, Missouri. During her childhood the family moved several times. In 1956, they settled in Clear Lake and she graduated in 1961 from St. Joseph's High School, Mason City, IA. She first attended Mason City Junior College for nurses training, then DMACC for her AA Nursing Degree. Barbara graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Iowa in 1992. Barb worked as a medical secretary and a registered nurse in Ames, Des Moines area hospitals, Friendship Haven, and Northwoods Living in Fort Dodge. She was a member of the Iowa Nurses Association and a parishioner of Holy Trinity Parish where she was proud to be a Eucharistic minister. Barb spent many hours with puzzles and hooking rugs. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, and was an avid reader. Barb also enjoyed crafting rosary beads for missions and collected a variety of rosaries during her travels with her mother in and out of the United States. Barbara was a loyal friend to many, and if you were her friend, you had a friend for life. Memorials may be left to the charity of choice.
