Berniece Lavonne Dobmeier

Berniece L. Dobmeier, 88, of Fort Dodge passed away Friday, December 20, 2013 at Fort Dodge Health and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will begin with an hour of visiting at 9:30 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2013 at Corpus Christi Church followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. Burial will be at Our Lady of Good Counsel Cemetery in Moorland. A visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with a rosary at 6:00. Berniece is survived by her children, Curtis (Chris) Ocenasek of Ames; Lawrence (Carol) Ocenasek of Fort Dodge; Dianne Panzi (Greg) of Lehigh; Corrinn Dobmeier of Fort Dodge; Raelene Amandus (Dave) of Fort Dodge; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Lois McMahon of Rockport, MO; and brother, Charles Anderson of Humboldt. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Edith (Johnson) Anderson; first husband, Lawrence Ocenasek; second husband, Mervin "Pete" Dobmeier in 2005; great-granddaughter, Cadence Schlief; and sister, Elinor Bunda. Berniece LaVonne Anderson was born February 10, 1925 in Fort Dodge. Berniece was raised and educated in the Callender area; graduating from Callender High School in 1943. During WWII Berniece worked at Fareway in Fort Dodge. In October of 1947, Berniece was united in marriage to Lawrence Ocenasek in Fort Dodge. The couple established their home in Olivia, MN until Lawrence passed away in 1955. On June 13, 1959 Berniece was united in marriage to Pete Dobmeier at Holy Rosary Church. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Berniece worked at Sears for 18 years until retiring in 1987. Berniece was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
