Betsy O'Leary, 78, of Fort Dodge passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice House after a 40year battle with cancer. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2016 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and then 10:30 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be at Corpus Christi Church con-celebrated with Msgr. Kevin McCoy and Rev. Jim McAlpin. Burial will be at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 3:00 p.m. and a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. all at the funeral home. Betsy is survived by her husband, Ed; children, Debbie (Randy) Bauer of Granger; Julie (Marc) Solnet of Highland Ranch, CO; Sean O'Leary of Plainsville, IL; daughter-in-law, Chris O'Leary; grandchildren, Ryan; Joe; and Erin O'Leary; Connor and Sydney O'Leary; Abbey and Sarah Solnet; Jenna and Kiera Bauer; sisters, Rita Ivory; Mary Jean Buckley; Rachel (Pat) Carter; brother, George "Nick" (Ann) Drzycimski. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Rachel (McElroy) Drzycimski; son, Tom O'Leary; sister Miriam Williams and brother, Robert "Bobby" Drzycimski. Betsy Drzycimski was born March 12, 1938 in Fort Dodge. She graduated with the first graduating class from Saint Edmond High School in 1956. Betsy and Ed O'Leary were united in marriage on August 31, 1956. They started dating when they were teenagers and have been together for over 59 years. Betsy worked for Randall's Grocery Store for 30 years. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Monican Mothers, Fort Dodge Garden Club, Democratic Women's Club, and was a PICA Volunteer. She was a retired member of the United Food and Commercial Workers. Betsy was a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Parish, where she dedicated countless hours. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
