Farnhamville- Bettie J. Nelson, 90, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Fort Dodge Health and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, February 1, 2021 at Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie with Pastor Jim Davis officiating. Burial of casket will follow at the Gowrie Township Cemetery. Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie is in charge of arrangements. Bettie is survived by sons, Raymond (Vickie) Nelson of Red Bluff, CA, Rick (Gina) Nelson of Sacramento, CA, Brian Nelson of Farnhamville; daughter-in-law, Pat Nelson of Fort Dodge; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Etta Muller of McKinney, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Leona (Shepperd) Cove; husband, Evan L. Nelson; son, Larry Nelson; and step-father, Robert Cole. Bettie J. Cove was born March 11, 1930 in Pontiac, MI. She attended schools in Rinard and Lohrville. She was united in marriage to Evan Nelson on January 24, 1947. Bettie worked in restaurant business and managed apartments for several years. Bettie moved to Farnhamville in September 1994. She loved to garden and loved taking daily walks. She enjoyed watching Dale Earnhart, Jr. racing and spending time with her grandchildren. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
