Betty L. Conlon, 92, of Humboldt passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at her home in Humboldt. Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Dan Kahl officiating. Burial will follow in Our Saviors Cemetery near Pioneer. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM Monday, July 19, 2021 at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Betty is survived by her children, Bruce (Mary) Conlon of Ottumwa and Debra (Charles) Strachan of Humboldt; 6 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; and sister, Loretta Nelson of Houston, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Charlotte (Lyon) Heun; husband, Roland Conlon; siblings, Dorothy Allard, Alice Smith, and Walter Heun; and a great-granddaughter, Daphne Johnson. Betty Louisa Heun was born February 2, 1929 in Gilmore City, IA. She was raised and attended schools in Gilmore City. When she was in the 9th grade she moved to Fort Dodge and attended Fort Dodge Senior High School. On February 21, 1947 she was united in marriage to Roland Conlon in Mankato, KS. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge until moving to Pioneer in 1950. Betty worked for the Pioneer Elevator for 21 years and retired in 1991. In 1995, the couple moved back to Fort Dodge. Betty was an excellent seamstress, avid quilter and did sewing for weddings for many years. She also was a talented painter. Betty was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
