Betty Louise Heidt

Betty Heidt, 90, of Humboldt passed away Monday, July 29, 2018 at The North Care Center in Humboldt. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Zion Lutheran Church, Humboldt. Burial will follow in Indian Mound Cemetery. A visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm Friday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Humboldt. Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family. Betty is survived by her son, Roger Heidt of Robins, IA; daughter, Marcia (Stanley) Nicholson of Plymouth, IA; grandchildren, Wayne (Missy) Oatman; Jeff Oatman; and Laura (Nate Rosendahl) Oatman; great-grandchildren, Connor Fiddler; Daymon Oatman; Logan Fiddler; Ruthann Oatman and Ryann Oatman. She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Esther (Weber) Kirchhoff; husband, Virgil (Frosty) Heidt in 2017 and brother, William Kirchhoff. Betty Louise Kirchhoff was born June 14, 1929 in Humboldt. She was raised and educated in Humboldt. She went to elementary at Beaver Creek country school and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1946. On September 18, 1948 Betty was united in marriage to Virgil Heidt at Zion Lutheran Church in Humboldt. Betty worked as a bookkeeper for First National Bank (5 years) then Locke's Jewelry Store (12 years). Eventually she retired from Anthony's (20 years). Betty spent countless hours as a foster parent for babies before there adoptions. She enjoyed baking and sewing. She was a long-time member of Zion Lutheran Church and Arbor Foundation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the Arbor Foundation.
