Betty J. Siefert Sabo, 96, of Fort Dodge, Passed away, Monday November 11, 2024, at Friendship Haven.

Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date, with burial to follow at North Lawn Cemetery. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family.

Betty is survived by her sons Mark (Nancy) Siefert of Fort Dodge, Scott Siefert of Myrtle Beach, SC, Kirk Siefert of Fort Dodge, Brian Siefert of Derby, KS, Todd (Peggy) Siefert of Bella Vista, AR, daughter Sharyl Siefert Duffy of Albuquerque, NM, stepchildren James (Sue) Sabo Jr. of Gilmore City, Diana (Bob) Miller of Big Horn, WY, Janet Heinen of Canon City, CO, eight grandchildren, eleven step grandchildren, six great grandchildren, 19 step great grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings Bob (Jackie) Hickey of Ballwin, MO and Barbara (Duane) Dueker of Jasper, TN.

Betty is preceded in death by her first husband Frank A. Siefert, second husband James Sabo, parents Joseph and Earline (Clausen) Hickey, son Joel Siefert, sister Patricia Ellenberg, step-daughter Kathy Detert Sabo and grand-daughter Molly Siefert Barlow.

Betty Joline Hickey was born on April 9, 1928, in Fort Dodge. She was raised and educated in Fort Dodge, graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1946. In 1949, she was united in marriage to Frank A. Siefert. The couple established their home and farmed near Clare. In 1965, they moved to Fort Dodge. Frank passed away in March of 1972. Betty worked as an accountant for Union Trust Bank for 15 years, until retiring in 1981. She was united in marriage to James Sabo later that year and the couple lived in Leesburg, Florida for 25 years until they returned to Fort Dodge in 2006. James passed away shortly after in 2011. Betty always enjoyed spending time with her family and reading. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church.
