Betty J Webster, 86, of Fort Dodge passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 at the Simpson Health Care Center, Friendship Haven. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2014 at Fulton Lutheran Church, Roelyn with Rev. Jim Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Fulton Lutheran Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Betty is survived by her son, Larry (Ardyce) Harklau of Fort Dodge; daughter, Vicki (Mike) Hall of Cedar Rapids; six granddaughters; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Les (Joan) Allen of Fort Dodge; and a sister, Beryl Light of Glidden. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, William and Beatrice (Pierce) Allen; sister, Marjorie Vote; and a brother, Cecil Allen. Betty J. Allen was born on July 5, 1928 in Fort Dodge, she was raised and educated in the Somers area, graduating from Somers High School in 1946. In March of 1946, Betty was united in marriage to Marion Harklau. The couple established their home in Somers. Marion passed away in 1951 and shortly after Betty and the children moved to Roelyn. Betty sold AVON for many years and worked at Globe Union for a period of time until 1967. Then she began working at the Lutheran Hospital. In 1973, she married Darrell Webster and the couple continued to live in the Roelyn area. Darrell passed away in 1997. Betty continued working until retiring in 1993 from Trinity Regional Hospital. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
