Beverly A. Schoon

Rockwell City Beverly A. Schoon 88, formerly of Rockwell City and Twin Lakes, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Arbor Springs of West Des Moines. Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2022 at St. Pauls Lutheran & Presbyterian Church, Rockwell City, with Pastor Denise Berns officiating. Burial will be at Union Cemetery, Pomeroy. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 24, at the Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City. Memorials may be left to St. Pauls Lutheran & Presbyterian Church. Beverly is survived by her son Dr. Jeffrey (Susan) Schoon of Waukee; daughter Leann (John) Swartzendruber of Waterloo; grandchildren, Brittania Schoon of West Des Moines, Travis (fianc Jennifer) Swartzendruber of Waukee, and Hannah Swartzendruber of Waterloo. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Schoon; her father Carl Babb; mother Anna (Sage) Boget; and stepfather Carl Boget; Beverly Ann Babb was born November 23, 1933 at Des Moines, Iowa. Beverly attended Jolley Schools until moving with her family in 1947 to Des Moines where she graduated from Woodside School. Beverly furthered her education and graduated from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls in 1954 and later Buena Vista University. On November 25, 1954 she was united in marriage to Charles Schoon. Beverly taught schools in Manson, Rockwell City and Lytton, until her retirement. Charles passed away in 2014. Member of St. Pauls Lutheran & Presbyterian Church, numerous Church committees, and Twin Lakes Golf Club.
