Beverly A. Nordeen, 49, of Fort Dodge, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2013, at Trinity Regional Medical Center following a lengthy battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 10th, at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with the Rev. Jon Rollefson, Pastor of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Callender, officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the V.F.W. Post 1856. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. She is survived by her longtime companion Jerry LaBaume of Fort Dodge; son, Jayson Goforth of Otho; mother, Kathryn Gifford of Des Moines; siblings, Duane (Linda) Nordeen of Poplar Bluff, MO; Marilyn (Craig) Newton of Winterset; Larry (Janice) Nordeen of Urbandale; and also will be deeply missed by her loving cats "her babies". She was preceded in death by her father Elmer Nordeen. Beverly A. Nordeen was born on July 4, 1964 in Carroll. Bev was educated in the Des Moines area and graduated from Roosevelt High School. Following her education she enlisted with U.S. Marine Corp serving in South Korea and Okinawa, specializing in communications. After her honorable discharge she lived in Winterset briefly, before moving to Fort Dodge area in 1989. Bev was employed as dental hygienist, in management with Mister Money and later G.N.C. for several years retiring in 2010 due to ill health. Memorials may be left to Almost Home of Fort Dodge.
