Callender Billie L. Schoonover "Hooey" 91, passed away Wednesday, May 12. 2021 at Sunny Knoll Care Centre, Rockwell City. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, Callender, with Pastor Greg Stano and Pastor Deb Stano officiating. Graveside Services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 20, at Lemons Cemetery in Lemons, Missouri. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, Callender. Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie is serving the family. Masks are optional. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. Billie is survived by his son William G. (Karon) Schoonover of Paullina, Iowa; Billie Starlene (Randy) Ness of Callender, Iowa; grandchildren, Joshua (Annie) Schoonover, Emilee Schuck, Alexandria (Jeff) Pommer, Betsy (Nick) Bement, and Brandon, Naomi, and Ryan Kliegl; and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth; parents, son Stevin Schoonover; his parents, George and Helen (Schnelle) Schoonover; and sister Linda Kaye Anderson. Billie L. Schoonover was born January 9, 1930 at Pollock, Missouri and graduated from Milan High School in Milan, Missouri. Billie was united in marriage to Ruth Eckman on July 30, 1952 at Harrison, Arkansas. They lived in Milan and Winigan Missouri until moving to Fort Dodge in 1962. Billie was employed at Kalo Brick & Tile Co. and retired from the Georgia - Pacific Gypsum Co. He loved woodworking, fishing, and quilting.
