Billy Jim Anderson, 61, of Callender, passed away Monday, July 11, 2016 at his home. A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2016 in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Myers officiating. Military Rites will be presented immediately following the service at the funeral home by the V.F.W. Post 1856 and the United States Army Honor Guard. A visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Billy is survived by his wife, Terri of Callender; his children, Nichole White of Madrid, IA; Billy Anderson II of Cincinnati, OH; Lacey (Quennel) McCaleb of Fort Dodge; Lana (Dan) Davis of Fort Dodge; his 10 grandchildren who loved him and called him their Papa; mother, Jean Anderson of Fort Dodge; sisters, Linda (Dave) Oester of Fort Dodge; Wanda (Mike) Wiese of Fort Dodge; Paula (Tom) Moran of Cedar Rapids; Pamela (Mike) McClaren of Terre Haute, IN; Debra Anderson of Victoria, TX; and Diana (Craig) Rodriquez of McComb, MS. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy E. Anderson; and sister, Anna Marie Ashmore. Billy Jim Anderson was born February 17, 1955. He attended Fort Dodge Senior High School, graduating in 1973. Billy was united in marriage to Terri Myers on June 7, 1975. He enlisted in the United States Army from 1975 until he was Honorably Discharged in 1979. The couple then made their home in Otho. After 33 years, Billy retired from U.S.G. as a foreman in 2008. Billy and Terri moved their family to Callender in 1994. Billy enjoyed going to the family lake home they purchased in December 2015, in Brainard, MN. Billy's hobby was fishing and he was an avid Minnesota Vikings Fan. The most important thing in his life was spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren that were the high light of his life. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
