Blanche McMahon, 90, of Twin Lakes, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Bickford Cottages. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. A visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday with a C.D.A Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Blanche is survived by her children, Patricia Lewis of Mesa, AZ; Michael McMahon of Lenexa, KS; Cathryn (Gregg) Bishop of Twin Lakes; Jane (Jon) Evans of Mesa, AZ; Matthew McMahon of Grimes; Susan (Mike) Stuck of Scottsdale, AZ; Robert Jr. (Maria) McMahon of Lenexa, KS; grandchildren, Eric, Jeremy, Ryan, Stephanie, Mitchell, Tara, Michael, Erin, Anna, Pamela, Catalena, Falen, Matt, Alyssa, Jenna, Michael, Keegan, Katie, Chloe, Jack, Jake, and Kelli; great-grandchildren, Ashleigh, Allison, April, Ella, Brooklyn, Charlotte, Madelyn, McKenna, Max, Ashton, Brayden, Cainan, Trey, Dalton, Jade, Kasen, Atticus, Cole, Sophia, Olivia, Conor, Danny, Ryleigh, Zoey, Landon, and Jaden; great-great grandchild, Truitt and sister, Marianne Weiss of Barnum. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Anna Coppinger; husband, Bob in 2005; brothers, Robert, Roger, and Danny Coppinger; sister, Bernadeen Ledford; daughter-in-law, Denise McMahon; son-in-law, Wes Lewis; great-granddaughters, Caitlyn Flatgard-Porrez and Carrie Bishop. Blanche Mary Coppinger was born February 12, 1928 on a farm south of Fort Dodge. She attended schools in rural Moorland and graduated from Barnum High School in 1946. She then attended Buena Vista College, Storm Lake, where she received her teaching certificate. On November 26, 1947, Blanche was united in marriage to Robert McMahon at Corpus Christi Church. The couple first established their home in Rock Island, IL and then Des Moines. In 1950, the couple moved to Fort Dodge. In 1961, Blanche and Bob bought a lake home at Twin Lakes where they enjoyed summers with their family. They often wintered in Scottsdale, Arizona and Blanche spent more time there after Bob's passing. Blanche was a life member of Corpus Christi/Holy Trinity Parish, Catholic Daughters of America, Monican Mothers, and she volunteered at Trinity Hospital. She enjoyed bird watching and had a life full of friends, good times, living on the lake and most of all she loved her children and grandchildren. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
