Bonnie G. Byro, 87, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Fort Dodge Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 16, 2022 at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. A visitation will be one hour prior at the funeral home. Bonnie is survived by her children Keith Byro and Sue of Forest City and Cindy Hubbard and Al of Lowry City, MO, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Myrilla (Taylor) Skoland, siblings, Lawrence Skoland, Marvin Skoland, David Skoland, Donna Tubbs, and Lester Skoland, daughter, Sheila Tagg. Bonnie was born February 18, 1935 in Iowa City. She was raised and educated in the Fort Dodge area attending Otho grade school and graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1954. She worked at Kresge's, the telephone company and Kersten's Clinic. She farmed in the Eagle Grove area, moving to Goldfield and then on to Humboldt. She worked at Saul's Studios for a few years and then at State Farm. In 1981, Bonnie relocated to Colorado and worked for State Farm and Horan & McConaty Funeral Services in Preneed Sales. She returned to Fort Dodge in 2002 and assisted in Preneed Funeral Planning at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Memorials may be left to the discretion of family.
