Brenda Lewis

Brenda Lewis, 58, of Des Moines, formerly of Fort Dodge passed away September 27, 2023 at her home. A time of sharing and visiting will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2023 at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Brenda is survived by her sister, Gwenda Naylor; brother, Harold Lewis (Claudia Harms); daughters, Tanisha "Tish" Lewis & Covia Grady; son, Covey Grady; grandsons, Teyvon Lewis, Cavion Grady, Alex Grady, Carsten Grady, Caidrik, and Caoilen; granddaughters, Ziara Silliman, Taliah Grady, Novia & Naviah Reynolds; and great-grandchildren, Kai Lewis, Teyden Lewis, Teyvon Jr. and Teyliah Lewis; many nephews and nieces, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Jasper "Shag" Overstreet; her mother, Mattie Ruth Lewis; her brother, Wilbert Lewis along with cousins, aunts and uncles. Brenda was born November 1, 1964 in Fort Dodge, IA. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1983. She loved to laugh, enjoy her family, travel, listen to her favorite music and she always kept up with her family writing letters and keeping in touch over the phone. She will definitely be missed.
