Brenda Sorenson

Brenda L. Sorenson, 66, of Somers passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018 at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Moorland with Rev. Patrick Behm officiating. Burial will follow at Fulton Lutheran Cemetery in Roelyn. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday at Laufersweiler- Sievers Funeral Home. Brenda is survived by her daughter, Marta Decker of Albuquerque, NM; son, Christopher Tasler of Ames; sister, Linda Wright of Brandon, MS; niece, Christina Wright of Flowood, MS; and nephew, Todd Wright of Brandon, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Chloris (Moe) Sorenson and brother-in-law, John V. Wright. Brenda L. Sorenson was born October 11, 1951 in Fort Dodge. She was raised and educated in Somers; graduating from Cedar Valley Community Schools in 1969. She then attended Iowa Central Community College. In 1970, Brenda was united in marriage to Steven Dean Tasler in Churdan. The couple eventually established their home on a farm near Somers. They later divorced. In 1997 she began working for the Unites States Postal Service and retired in 2015 after 17 years of service. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
