August 29, 1950 — June 8, 2016

Bruce Allen Folvag, 65, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2016. Celebration of Life will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2016 in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Pastor John Sersland officiating. Burial will follow at North Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Survivors include his son, Ben (Jennifer) Robinson and their children, Alexander and Anna all of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Beth Folvag of Mesa, AZ; sisters, Kay Collins of Fort Dodge; Deb Lambert of Pensacola, FL; brother-in-law, Rob Peterson of Gowrie; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Lorraine (Knutson) Folvag; and his sister, Lori Peterson. Bruce Allen Folvag was born on August 29, 1950 in Fort Dodge. He attended schools here and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1969. Bruce went on to college at Texas Tech in Lubbock, TX; then attended and graduated from Idaho State University in 1973 where he majored in Political Science. He worked for Fort Dodge Laboratories and after that was a long time New York Life Insurance salesman from 1977 until he retired in 1997. Bruce was an avid reader, history buff, and golfer. He had a tremendous quest for knowledge and a great sense of humor. He loved a good debate, Western movies and baseball. He was devoted to his family and friends. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
