Carl L. Zuspann

Carl L. Zuspann, 81, of Fort Dodge passed away Monday, July 20, 2015 at his home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015 in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. John Hembry officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the Otho Cemetery. A visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at the funeral home. Carl is survived by his wife, Shirley; sons, Doug (Barb) of Lehigh; Steven of Fort Dodge; Joseph (Cindy) of Lawton, OK; and Jonathan (Kim) of Oak Grove, MO; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and sister, Sally Maier of Fort Dodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Marie (Rank) Zuspann; infant son, David; brothers, Earl, Raymond, and Robert; sisters, Marjorie Robbins and Marilyn Winterton. Carl L. Zuspann was born July 29, 1933 in Fort Dodge. He was raised in Fort Dodge and graduated from FDSH in 1951. He was united in marriage to Shirley Lunn on October 19, 1952 at the Riverside Methodist Church in Fort Dodge. For a number of years, Carl designed and built boats for Glass Marine Industries and made glass craft boats. In 1959, Carl established Carl's Body Shop, which he owned and operated until retiring in 1991. Carl enjoyed hunting and fishing. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
