Carol Lynn Walker

Carol L. Walker, 51, of Fort Dodge passed away Sunday, November 10, 2019 at her home. A memorial service will be 12:00 PM Friday, November 15, 2019 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremy Hatley officiating. A visitation will be 10:00 AM until noon on Friday at the funeral home. Carol is survived by her sons, Brad Tiernan (Melissa Wildt) and Brett (Kayla) Tiernan, both of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Kaden, Adrian, Henry, Alex, Brice, and Lydia; mother, Sharon Balm of Fort Dodge; brothers, Roger Balm of Algona and Jim (Amy) Balm of Boone; and sister, Mary Balm (Henry) Williams of Fort Dodge. She was preceded in death by her father, James Balm and ex-husband, Brent Tiernan. Carol Lynn Balm was born February 9, 1968 in Fort Dodge. She attended schools in Fort Dodge. On April 5, 1984 she was united in marriage to Brent Tiernan at Riverside United Methodist Church. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge. They later divorced. Carol worked as a waitress but her favorite job by far was watching children. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, sewing, crafting, playing cards, cooking and getting together with family. She will be very missed by everyone who knew her. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
