Carolyn J. Mcdanel

Rockwell City Carolyn J. McDanel 83, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Sunny Knoll Care Centre, Rockwell City. Her wishes were to be cremated and graveside services will be in Sioux Rapids, Iowa at a later date. Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City is serving the family. Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Sarah (Bill) Junkman of Rockwell City, Lisa (Anthony) Beatrez of Duluth, MN, and Laura (Brad) Henrichs of Bothell, WA; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell Blaine and Loretta Jeanette (Meyers) Baker; and brother LaVerne Baker. Carolyn Jeanette Baker was born December 3, 1937 at Boone, Iowa. She graduated from Jordan Consolidated School near Boone and she also graduated from beauty school. On July 25, 1959 she was united in marriage to Robert Judson McDanel. The couple lived in numerous Iowa communities, including, Des Moines, Boone, Nevada, Pocahontas, Manson, Rockwell City, and Somers. Carolyn worked as a homemaker, a hairdresser, and in school food service for many years until her retirement. Robert passed away in 2017.
