Carolyn is survived by her children, Mary McClain of SanTan, Arizona; James (Terry) Richardson of Nogal, New Mexico; Dr. Adam (Sandra) Richardson of Newcastle, California; and Faith (Kevin) Daniels of Richmond, Texas; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and sister Joan Moore of Aurora, Colorado; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald; daughter Carol Ann Blazek; her parents, Denton and Marguerite (Cullinan) Archer; brother Denton Archer; and sister Joyce Schoenbaum. Carolyn Myrtle Archer was born December 25, 1933 in Des Moines, Iowa, but the family was back in Rockwell City as soon as possible. Here, she completed her schooling, participating in girls basketball as well as many other activities, and graduated from Rockwell City High School. Here, also, she met Don Richardson. On February 2, 1952, she was united in marriage to Donald E. Richardson at St. Francis Catholic Church in Rockwell City. The couple made their home in Rockwell City where the family was blessed with five children. Carolyn raised her family and when children required less attention, she applied for grants to open and manage Rockwell Citys Congregate Meal site for many years. Carolyn was a powerful force, never for herself, but for the greater good. She took great joy in her grandchildren, was a championship-level bridge player, and lead 4H. She was a creative and prolific quilter. She was always busy helping friends through quilting, baking, church activities, and helping along with her husband with the Annual Christmas Dinner for over 30 years. The couple moved to Texas to be closer to family. Don passed away in 2015, when theyd been married for 63 years. This was one thing Carolyn allowed herself to feel proud of, and for recent years she longed to be reunited with him. Carolyn was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Twin Lakes Golf Club, and Cursillos in Christianity. In Texas, she was a member of Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church.
