Burial will follow at North Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Laufersweiler Funeral Home in Fort Dodge. Cathy is survived by her loving husband Allen, children Anthony Baedke, (Heather) of Fort Dodge and Amy Halverson, (Jerod) of North Liberty. Cathy is also survived by many adoring and devoted grandchildren: Lief Klaschen-Bruns, Forrest Bruns, Autumn, Ava, Lillie and Kade Baedke, and Bennett, Mason and Emersyn Halverson. She is also survived by her caring mother-in-law, Charlene Jordison and her siblings David Jones and Dawn Gronbach (Gary) as well as nieces Katie Francis, Kristin Johnson, and nephew Matt Gronbach. Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, David Jones and Carol "Toni" (Palmer) Jones and father-in-law, Paul Jordison. Cathy L. Jones was born April 3, 1958 in Fort Dodge. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1976. Cathy received her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and reading endorsement from Buena Vista University and her Masters of Education degree from Viterbo University based in La Crosse, Wisonsin. On July 10, 1987, she was united in marriage to Allen Jordison. They made Fort Dodge their home, where she was employed at Feelhaver Elementary as a Title 1 Reading teacher. She found her true passion, helping young children discover the same love for learning each day in the classroom, before retiring due to ill health. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, which she enjoyed sharing in music, quilting and friendship for the remainder of her life. Though Cathy's health was failing for many years, few people knew the extent to which she struggled. Her joy for life and relentless spirit kept her pushing through the pain. Her hobbies and interests were reflected to accommodate her health. She was a passionate gardener, she enjoyed lake life at Lost Island, singing and dancing with her grandkids, swimming, aquasize and walking the lazy river with friends. Cathy loved a quick trip to HuHot or Taco Tico as well as a Baby Ruth candybar. She loved scrapbooking with her mom, as well as sewing, quilting and embroidering. Most of these treasures became gifts to children that were taken in with nothing, but left with a gift made with true love to keep forever that included a new pillowcase and quilt. Her latest and greatest passion was card making, which many have been blessed with, even as recently as a few days ago. Cathy loved to brighten the spirit of others by sending "Happy Mail" to anyone that she thought might need a little encouragement or comfort. She had recently spent time with her granddaughter Emersyn, card-making the day away. This brought Cathy countless hours of enjoyment, conversation and friendships with many. Cathy will always be remembered and forever be missed for her witty personality, creative talents, thoughtful and endless giving heart, selfless gestures and never-ending and unconditional love and support for her family and friends. Memorial may be left to the discretion of the family.
