Chad Allen Grell

Chad A. Grell, 38, of Fort Dodge, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Chad is survived by his wife, Melissa; daughter, Maurynn Grell; step-son, Kevin Michehl of Fort Dodge; father, Mike (Vicky) Grell of Fort Dodge; mother, Cheryl (James) Arneson of Fort Dodge; sister, Crystal (Kenworth) McKinney of Johnston; and grandmother, Doris Grell of Fort Dodge. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Pat Grell; grandparents, Leonard and Audrey Frank; and cousin, Michael Benson. Chad Allen Grell was born December 4, 1976 in Iowa City. He attended Holy Rosary and Sacred Heart Schools before transferring to Fort Dodge Senior High School. Following Chad's education, he worked with his dad at Pat Grell and Sons Excavating and Demolition for many years. He was later employed with Mobile Concrete Crushing. Chad was united in marriage to Melissa Michehl in Las Vegas on December 12, 2012. The couple established their home In Fort Dodge. For the last few years of Chad's life, he owned and operated Gypsum Hollow Industries. He had a great pride in his family and friends. He loved to be outside and truly enjoyed all types of motor sports. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
