Charles "Bob" Boeger, 87, of Fort Dodge passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at his home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Deacon Dan Carney officiating. A visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Charles Robert (Bob) Boeger was born May 14, 1933 in Davis City, Iowa to Josephine Leona Mc Dowell and Carl Richard Boeger. He moved to West Des Moines at age 5. Bob attended Valley High School and graduated in 1952. After graduation, he joined the Navy and served for 4 years. Upon returning from the Navy he attended Drake University for 2 years. He met his wife Patricia Louise Harter and they married at St Ambrose Cathedral in Des Moines on January 30, 1959. They bought a house in Clive and had 3 children Shawn, Chris and Jim. Bob worked for Interstate Insurance Company then Koch Brothers Office Supply. They moved to Fort Dodge IA in 1966. While in Fort Dodge he was the office manager for Koch Brothers for many years. He joined the Sertoma Club and was very active for 47 years. During those years he had many business adventures to include, the Pizza Pit, Trash and Treasures, Ma and Pa's Chicken, and Spudos. He was also a Farm Bureau agent and worked at Payless Cashway Hardware Store. He also bought and rented more than 40 homes. He coached flag football, youth basketball, and started the Backpack Buddies program. In his later years he worked for Walmart as a greeter, Shoppers Supply now Bomgaars, drove taxi, and transported DHS youth around the state. He loved going to the casino and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Bob will be remembered for his love of life, dedication to family and friends and for his sense of humor which he carried with him right up to the end. Bob loved babysitting his great grandchildren, taking them to garage sales and taught them how to wheel and deal bargains. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. He is survived by his children, Shawn (Kim) Law, of Fort Dodge, Chris Boeger of Tumwater, WA and Jim (Gaby) Boeger of Mainaschaff, Germany. His grandchildren Jason Liska, Laccey (Max) Crimmins, Saskia Hill, Jasmyn and Justin Pace, Ryan Boeger, Elaina Boeger, great grandchildren Grant Liska, Garrett Steburg, Raymond Crimmins, Paisley Liska, Rilynn Pace, Savion Hill, and Zaylen Hill. He was preceded in death by his wife Pat Boeger, his sisters Lucille Bauer, Betty Barth, Judy Richardson and his brother Jake Blake.
