Charlotte C. Thilges, 84, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at the Marian Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 27th at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Dillinger, officiating. Entombment will take place at the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Survivors include her husband, Bernard of Fort Dodge; daughters, Linda Prather of Spirit Lake; Stephanie (Rich) Albright of Fort Dodge; son, John (Julie) Prather of Fort Dodge; step-sons, Don (Donna) Prather of Menefee, CA; David (Karla) Thilges of Fairfax, PA; Kevin (Tina) Thilges of Wellington, MO; Thomas Thilges of Higginsville, MO; Charles (Judy) Thilges of McMurray, PA; step-daughters, Debra (Mitch) Waage of Belmond; and Barbara (Doug) Boyington of Humboldt; 14 grandchildren, many great grandchildren; and her brother, Larry Munson of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her parents, Halsey and Clara Sophia (Anschutz) Munson, and her son, Alan "Rock" Prather; brother, Ronald Munson; and her sister, LaRie Munson Charlotte Clara Munson was born on January 1, 1930, in Rippey, Iowa. She attended schools there and graduated from Rippey Consolidated High School in 1947. Following her education she moved to Ventura, CA; where she worked at Southern Counties Gas Co. until 1951 when she moved to Fort Dodge. From 1951 to 1954, she worked for Howard Lawson, C.P.A. On December 1, 1951, she was united in marriage to Don Prather. Together the couple had 4 children and made their home in Fort Dodge. For the next 25 years Charlotte was a homemaker. Her and Don were later divorced. From 1979, until she retired in 1992 she worked in the office at Younkers. On August 20, 1988 she was united in marriage to Bernard Thilges and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. She and Bernie enjoyed traveling to many different places during their retirement. Charlotte loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed watching old westerns and comedy shows. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
