Cheryl Ann Lawton

Cheryl A. Lawton, 73, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017, at Stratford Specialty Care in Stratford. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, August 3, 2017, at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Davis officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Survivors include her sons, Matt Anderson of Stratford; Chris Anderson of Columbia, SC; 2 grandchildren, Ashley "Joel" Peterson of Stratford and Kristi Anderson of Columbia, SC; 4 great grandchildren, Kellie, Kain, Kason, and Karter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Gretchen (Dittmier) Ewing; husband, Jerry Lawton; brother, Gerald Ewing and her sister, Mary Rowe. Cheryl Ann Ewing was born on October 16, 1943, in Fort Dodge. She attended schools here and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1962. Following her education, she was united in marriage to George Anderson on April 14th, 1962 and they were later divorced. For over 40 years, Cheryl was dog groomer where she owned and operated the "Pampered Poodle" here in Fort Dodge. On January 12, 1978, she was united in marriage to Jerry Lawton and they made their home in Fort Dodge. She enjoyed watching Lifetime and western movies. Cheryl loved to spend time with her family and with her friends at the "Community". Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
