Chon Rushton

Chon D. Rushton, 44, of Fort Dodge, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in Perry, MO, due to injuries sustained in a car accident. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2016 in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Snook officiating. Military Rites will be presented by V.F.W. Post 1856 and the U.S. Army Honor Guard. A visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Chon is survived by his mom, Olivia (Gary) Clabaugh of Fort Dodge; dad, Frank Rushton of Fort Dodge; siblings, Michelle Rushton of Fort Dodge; Sara Clabaugh of Fort Dodge; Pamela Cann of MO; Todd (Susan) Beadle of OK; Teresa (Wayne) Ballenger of OK; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert "Kojak" Rushton; David Rushton; and infant sister, Tammy Rushton. Chon Douglas Rushton was born July 13, 1971 in Fort Dodge and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1989. He joined the United States Army in 1990 until his honorable discharge in 1994. Chon worked various jobs, but most recently he worked at the family business, Trophies Unlimited, as a computer graphic designer. He was a current board member of the Frontier Days Committee. Chon treasured his family, friends, and enjoyed helping people, he would always say "no problem". Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
