Cindy Elliott, 73, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Allen Hospital in Waterloo.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 14th at 10:00 AM at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home.
Cindy is survived by her sons, Austin (Saydie) Elliott of Fort Dodge; Gerrad (Tania) Elliott of Humboldt, 4 grandchildren, Easton, Emerson, Caden, and Lucas, mother Gerry Balke of Fort Dodge, sister Carolyn (Stan) Rogers of Warsaw, MO, brothers Stan (Francie) Balke and Roger (Lucy) Balke, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Terry in 2017 and her dad Kenneth Balke, and her brother Larry Balke.
Cynthia Kay Balke was born on October 20, 1950, in Sedalia, MO. At a young age the family moved to Des Moines. She attended schools there and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1968. The family then moved to Fort Dodge. She attended the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. Cindy was united in marriage to Terry Elliott on March 15, 1978, and the couple established their home in the Clare area, eventually settling in Fort Dodge. Cindy was employed with Mickey's Express for several years and then O'Berg Freight Co. as a dispatcher until her retirement in 2015. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, reading books and listening to live music. She treasured the time with her grandchildren. Her family was her whole heart and she was the ultimate caregiver.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
