Clara Clark

July 5, 1937 — February 24, 2025

Clara L. Clark, 87, of Huxley and formerly of Fort Dodge passed away Monday, February 24,2025 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2025, at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at North Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Clara is survived by her children Tim (Jody) Clark of McAllen, TX, Todd (Carolyn) Clark of Fort Dodge, Shawna Schulze of Huxley, seven grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Ruth Evans.

She was preceded in death by her father Orville Smith, mother Ruby Palmer (Smith) Richards, step-father Lyle Richards, husband Joe, siblings Glenn Smith, Betty Hamman, Jean Archer, Rick Richards, and Larry Smith.

Clara Lou Smith was born July 5, 1937, in Red Oak, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Fort Dodge, graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1955. She met Joe Clark while working at a drug store after high school and the two were married in 1956. For 27 years, Clara worked at Dee's Hallmark and then Fareway for 17 years. Joe and Clara were members of First United Methodist Church. After Joe's passing, she moved to Huxley with her daughter Shawna. Clara was very proud of her children and grandchildren.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
