Clara Fandenia Bumgarner

September 2, 1920 — June 24, 2013

Clara F. Bumgarner, 92, of Fort Dodge passed away Monday, June 24, 2013 at the Fort Dodge Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Christ Lutheran Church with Rev. Craig Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Colfax Township Cemetery near Vincent. A visitation will be 9:00 AM Thursday prior to the funeral at the church. Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family. Clara is survived by her daughters, Sondra Schwanz (Charles) of Fort Dodge; Marjean Dencklau (Doug) of Vincent; Marilea Kinseth (Mark) of Milford; five grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Florence Huddleston of Independence, MO. Clara was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Florence Leahy; husband, Olin; granddaughter, Shelley Tucker; brothers, Cecil; Edward; and Guy Leahy; sisters, Delia Hill; Beatrice McCullough; Helen Davis; and Patricia Smith. Clara F. Leahy was born September 2, 1920 in Garden Grove. She attended Garden Grove schools graduating from Garden Grove High School. On January 1, 1942 Clara was united in marriage to Olin Bumgarner. While Olin served on the United States Coast Guard the couple lived in San Francisco until 1945. The couple then moved to Corydon. In 1956, the family moved to Fort Dodge. Besides being a homemaker; Clara worked for Woolworths for many years and later the Dollar General in Webster City. Family and friends were always welcome into Clara's home. Above all, family was Clara's greatest joy. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
